If I had a nickel for every time the 3rd Girlfriend of a peak fiction harem manga was an incredibly shy timid nervous animal type who's chapter after joining the harem was about getting along with the first two girlfriends with very excitable personalities, I'd have 2 nickels, but it's weird that it happened twice.

It is similar for me. I think the difference is the rate of the new members as well as the individual actions of them. In 100 girlfriends it felt like the harem grew way too fast, and the haracters only acted as a group after they joined it.
