In another scanlation of another series, the translator drew upon the wrong English-language lexicon to find a close match for slang. (The problem was that the subculture to which the lexicon belongs does not correspond well to the subculture whence the characters come.) Just transliterating the Japanese and adding marginal notes would have done the trick, but instead a dust-up erupted in the forum.
