Im betting an arm that Sarina's mother deeds will come back to bite Ruby in the ass. Thats a really low blow for Ruby and if she discovers it will make her for sure become even more bitter, and shes quite jaded already compared to how she started the story.

Aqua is even more jaded and cynic, but at least he was far older than her before he died so his mental state no matter how twisted it is is more "stable" so to speak than Ruby's
