To show just how sad Ruby's previous life was? And how she still clings to hope that her first mother loved her somehow?

I won't judge the first mother, dunno enough at this point anyway, but rn I dont mind if Aqua do smth rush about it.

Shes mature for her age, but mentally wise shes at best at around 20 years old since she never "became an adult" so to speak (no sex pun intented). Reliving your childhood for a second time doesnt add the total years maturity wise, makes you a bit more mature than on the first time, but nothing else. Having good parents on your second life doesnt make it easier to swallow that you were abandoned by your mother in your first life, and even now shes in hard denial of it as its implied on the acting scene

Imagine taking care of someone who you know was about to die, doing everything you can to get in contact with her parents to hopefully at least let them have a moment with each other before she passes, but fail because the mom was busy. This mother never, even once came to visit her dying daughter, up until her last moments. Then you find out this mother figure was enjoying her life elsewhere, seemingly without a care in the world, as if completely forgetting about her daughter. No memento, nothing. “As long as the kids are healthy.”

She abandoned Sarina. Aqua was taking care of her for a long time. He has the right to be pissed. I know I’d be too.

You know the situation is supernatural, and is this way for both of them? It's not even about digging up the past, it's about comparing notes to try and figure out what the fuck has happened to both of them, and it is very strange that neither of them has expressed even the slightest curiosity and asked the other party.
Besides, neither of them respects each other, and Aqua is the guy who would totally dig up the past and do underhanded shit to Ruby, something he has done a couple of times throughout the manga
