Man would have thought without the Dad being around to hide or shuffle around his stuff they could have connected him to full on crimes better, seems like the kind of guy to have pictures on a hidden drive.
Also while the depression is being shown well enough, and was probably planned in general given dark start of series where death was required for progress, getting across likely "but hope lived on" ending in such short amount of time, since its a more complex thing to get across, probably won't be done well enough. Like living on for brother's memory and hope of maybe seeing him again can keep Ruby at least alive making it feel real won't be easy.

Also, there is no afterlife in this verse as others said, which makes things even more depressing.

How is this about being mature?
This is a story where people got reincarnated lmao. It was never realistic from the start.
This ending simply blows. It blows because Aqua's "sacrifice" feels absolutely unneccessary. This wasn't the only path he had for him. He just chose the dumbest path to appease himself, with no regard to how it would affect others.
It also throws away all development of Aqua as a character he had during the whole series. He didn't care about his life at the start, then slowly changed... only to revert back completely.
Also screw the author for writing this. Trying to make his needless suicide into a brave thing and then showing how "people can get over it".
No, people don't really get over it. It sucks, it hurts like hell. With time it gets easier to talk about it, but the scar never truly heals.
Suicide is a very serious issue and this story handles it very poorly.
You are all important. There is someone out there who cares about you and will get hurt extremely by this selfish action. Even if you don't realize it.
Reach out for help. It's always worth it.

Yet she had the nerve to appear before Aqua in his final moments and pretend she saw all this coming.
Yep, not worth getting into it, the writer was too preoccupied with finishing each chapter with a cliffhanger or a twist and has been mindbroken by his divorce, his other work got axed and he was ruining that too. Just read Kaguya Sama and Instant Bullet.
I won't be reading anything he writes again.

well he has been killing/manipulating people for ages, pretty much could pull a cult if the series wanted to be dumber hahaha (like jujika), still at least for me this end I found it better than what he did in kaguya sama or well didn't turn the f*cker into a good guy right at the end after seeing Ai video, the father was a POS and deserved a dishonorable death, he will be remember as a psycho and that he killed aqua after getting caught.

I've read manga for like 20 fucking years and I've rarely been this disappointed.
This is trash beyond trash, the only thing missing is this mofo reincarnate next chapter.
This story was not built to have this ending, this is simply shock value for the sake of it.
And now, after telling us he was tortured for two lives straight, that he was just a kid, and that this was a mistake, the story is now telling us that Ruby "has been protected", that they're crying now but "that they will recover somehow somewhen"...
This is embarassing.
