This ending feels like getting to the end in an RPG and instead of letting you fight the last boss, the game just plays a cutscene where the main character blows himself up along with the boss, then cuts to credits.

Subversive, sure. Also, very unsatisfying.

i'm not saying that lying make someone a bad person, never did, my issue is that the only thing we got from this chapter is "everyone moved on" and that Ruby ended up being like her mother, despite all that long as monologue how everyone changed and how character focused this series is that almost all the important character got their own pov in this series, this just isn't the way to end the series

and no, i don't dislike this series have sad ending, i don't mind at all, i just hate ending without proper closure

also, just saying that aka went an extra mile for every character in kaguya-sama ending but somehow he can't do it with oshi no ko that have less key characters
This ending isn't perfect, I 100% agree it should've been longer and addressed the futures of more characters

Ruby is similar to her mother but she took Ai's personality and and ideas and made them better. She isn't a repeat of Ai, she is a better version of her mother. There is 100% proper closure for Ai, Ruby, and Aqua, but Kana, Akane, Mem-cho, the producers, and their adopted parents should've gotten more screen time. Something more than one panel to address them. It's not a bad ending at all if you're focusing on the main plot and themes, in fact this is a perfect ending for that, but I think there were other ways to make all the story and characters feel included

bruh, it's a bit of a nothing burger ending, yeah whatever everyone bounced back...but that's like just basically throwing in something decent right at the end just for the sake of wanting to end thing "on a good note"...well, as good of a note as it can be anyway, it's so....safe, in a lame way.

Objectively, I'd rate Oshi no Ko as a whole a 7, maybe a 6.

But 1 means appalling, and I feel very appalled.

How retarded do you have to be to think that a career is more important than your families life? How stupid can a person be to think that anyone is genuinely made better by this shit?

How can anyone actually think that idol trash is the most important thing to a person.

I mean, who actually gives a shit about celebrities? There is a new one every other week, nobody is truly touched by something like that. It's just like going to a movie, people will care in social media for a week and then jump to the next thing.

I genuinely don't understant this kind of twisted priorities and how the author thinks this shit is reasonable.
I totally get what you're saying, it's an absurd way of thinking, but I don't think that's what the author thinks, it's just what Aqua thought, Akane even thought they could have planned the perfect crime together so yeah, this is basically an admission that it did not need to end like this and Aqua is just a fool, and I think at his very final moments Aqua realized that too, but then it was too late.
In that I'm reminded of Jujutsu Kaisen, Aqua self righteous sacrifice becomes a curse onto Ruby, it's very dark, but I think it's by design.

The funniest thing about the ending not being conclusive, is that it was the point in the first place.

None of them moved on. They lie to. that's the ending.

Well... I don't really know what to think of this ending.
It's not a badly written ending in the sense that the characters acted within what was set out and the story makes sense.
At the same time, I think a happy ending would have fit the story better.
In any case, I'm glad it's over and that I had the opportunity to follow this great story.
In a sea of never-ending stories, the ones that end and especially those that don't drag on unnecessarily should be applauded.

it's not a proper closure at all with just "everyone moved on", you know how crushed Kana was on the previous chapter, the least Aka could do is show some of what Kana is thinking, there's only 2 character in these few last chapters that got a satisfying closure, the first one is obviously Ruby that she inherited her mother talent and her brother wish

the 2nd one is Akane that been monologuing the few chapters after Aqua died, but even then, it doesn't feel that satisfying either aside from us knowing that Akane doesn't mind being a killer for Aqua sake

tl;dr, this whole ending is basically only about Ruby which feels "why" considering we all know that this series isn't only about Ruby and the fact that Ruby even barely appear in some of the early arc

and i'm just gonna say this before someone misunderstood me, i don't think the ending is really bad, but its just "isn't there supposed to be more?"

It's fascinating to see how many crybabies comptise the manga/webcomic communities.
But,after all,it is the natural counterreaction to the good old saying "shit happens".

Yeah I'm saying that I also think that there should have been more addresses to other characters. With the exceptions of Ruby, Aqua, and Ai, none of the characters got true send-offs. Kana overcame her sadness, understanding that Aqua would want her to work harder and be better, and then she pushed those same ideas onto Mem-cho. Akane understood everything Aqua had done, but that couldn't help her and she still felt pained by his death. However, thanks to Aqua, she no longer lacks self-esteem and is not suicidal, and thus goes on. Essentially every character was saved by Aqua so his death wasn't in vain. Although I think these things are neat, I would've like some. more pages about their stories.

"Everyone moved on" isn't a proper ending, but that's not what this is. Ruby didn't move on, Aqua and Ai became her motivators. That's the point of the lie. She is constantly thinking about them and what she's lost, but she knows that giving up would mean desecrating their memory, so she lives on how she knows the others would want her to. Kana, Akane, Mem-cho, and essentially everyone else had this same reaction. Ruby isn't alone in the fact that she lies about her feelings towards Aqua's death, all of the others are the same way. You can tell by the panel when Kana breaks down mid-acting. No one moved on, they just use Aqua as a motivator and thus lie about their feelings to go on in the world
