bro is there any interview with the author ? what's going on really? why is he giving up this peak manga like this ? isn't the series really successful ? isn't the anime getting 3rd season ? I guess bro just burned out and just noped the frick out -_-.
There is, came out recently, don't have the link though, said things like how the ending had been long planned and how he hopes to be an author to which people look forward to and other dumb shite.

I just realized Aqua never even kissed fucking Kana. Jesus fucking christ I swear people who think this isn't ass writing and say that "people can't handle a bad ending" are 15 year olds who have never picked up a book. This must be literally the first thing they've read in their lives. There's no other answer.

Oh man, anyone remembers that scene with Aqua pulling an evil laugh over how manipulable Kana was? He manipulated her into ... killing himself. Right. Fucking mastermind.

OH MAN, I just remembered Aqua stopped Akane from killing herself to then go and kill himself while she sat thinking "I bet he'll be okay, right? no one would actually jump off a bridge or anything, that's ridiculous"

That the manga ended in tragedy when it more or less started in tragedy is not the issue. No, the real problem is that for more than half of its run, the writing has been ass.

The stage play arc was the last good one. After they went back to the town where the hospital was everything went to shit. Aqua pulled an "according to keikaku" moment with Akane finding Gorou's corpse, Ruby went to the dark side and crow loli kami appeared to spout some cryptic bullshit and proceed to do fuck all for the rest of the story. Everything after that felt rushed with a lot of stupid moments such as producer guy from all the way back at the start popping back up again, Aka casually throwing in some bait for incest shippers or the cringe convesation between Aqua and Hikaru which I suppose was made to make the latter seem somewhat symphatetic? Aka might've ended this in a way he had planned from the start, wonder if he actually planned how to get to the finish line as well because it sure doesn't feel so.

But, I have to say I had fun watching this turn into an out of control train that was going to crash without survivors. And looking at how the rating is going down and how, apparently, mangaplus is doing damage control with deleting comments, crashed it very well did. Cheers. :aquadrink:

One of the worst endings from this decade. I don't think the last chapter will redeem it...
I mean, compared to the endings we got in the last few months it's still the least bad of the 3 (jjk & mha), it could almost have worked if it wasn't so rushed.

But seriously this is disappointing, someone on reddit was drawing a parallel on how it feel like hitting a bad ending route in a vn (rushed and out of place) and that's very on point.

Feels like it got axed with an ending this abrupt, but with how mid and bland half of this weekly cliffhanger slop bait manga has been I'm not that surprised, a real letdown after love is war

@akasaka_aka

The magazine serialization ends here, but the book will include 18 pages of extra material and a novella about Arima and Kurokawa's past and future.
If you don't mind sticking with us for a little longer, I'd be happy if you would follow this as well.
First of all, thank you so much for sticking with me this far. #推しの子

Really? Even Aqua's sacrifice was all for naught on this ending. What was the point of him protecting Ruby when what he did only made her suffer for life and basically become Ai v2.0.

Basically, living her life by lying to everyone, even Akane and the others didn't see through her lies similarly to Ai. It's the complete opposite of what she wanted to become when Aqua was still alive, which was to live her life without lies unlike Ai. It would've been more consistent if she just ended her life after that (likely would after her idol years at this point as she got nothing to live/lie for afterwards), she's basically the victim from start to finish. She got the short end of the stick in her previous life, then she got a chance to reincarnate with Tsukuyomi's help but still end up suffering in that life.

What was Tsukuyomi's purpose in that case? I thought she wanted to help out the two, now she's nowhere to be found. All the build-up from the Spica novel about the two was thrown in the drain too.

Mengo's been carrying with the art pretty heavily the past few chapters, it all feels like this isn't the planned ending they talked about that Mengo would like considering she's an avid Aqua x Ruby fan even if she's pretty known on making sad endings (those had proper closure despite being sad). Felt like Aka wanted to finish the story and move on and rushed the whole thing.

It's wild how a 30-year-old doctor gets murdered and reincarnated, grows up to be a teenager, and y'all weirdos actually wanted this grown adult in a child's body to hook up with teenage girls. Potentially including his now biological sister and former patient. Now you're all mad that Gorou didn't go full chomo.

Stay mad pedo apologists.

What?
Just like that?
this chapter felt like 10 chapters wrapped together in 28 pages, This shit is ASS. It feels like there was no conclusion to other characters other than Ruby, Akane suddenly becomes the narrator in last 3 chapters, Kana just fades away, Mem-cho is just still there, I guess? Dude, this is NOT how you should end a story. The entire story feels like a nothing burger at this point. Aka tried to provide a conclusion to everyone but failed to provide an actual ending to anyone.

Started off with a howl, ended off with a whimper, that's Oshi no Ko for you.

Yeah I felt love is war also sort of petered out towards the end somewhat like this. A real shame, great stories but the landings just don't stick.

i am conflicted with ending. it's interesting and memorable for sure, but also unsatisfying in lot of ways, also pretty rushed. the journey tho, very fun. the twist, the thrill, the gag, the drama, the dark insight of entertainment industry, i liked it very much. 8/10. looking forward for next works.
Yeah, Aka Akasaka is really bad with endings, regardless of what happens (be it a good ending like with Kaguya-sama, or a bad one, like this one), the pacing is all messed up and cut short, to the point that the last 7/8 chapters feel excessively different from the rest of the manga.

I will read his next work, but likely stop halfway not to get myself pissed off again by a poorly made ending.

I know it's a amazing ending, but it still hurts, it always does when the MC of an amazing story himself dies. It really just feels empty but In a way author almost immortalised this manga in my mind like AI, if it was not for this ending.I would say the author really achieved what he intended to do.
