"old lady" but... Tsukamoto Azusa (which I assume is Anne's mom) is 45...I think the last part about "if more complaints come, we'll have to draw an old lady or a little girl in an outfit like that" is a threat.
I posted a picture of the reference in this thread recently, yeah.GUYS I FINALLY REMEMBERED WHERE ITāS FROM, as a Yuri fan who is also a Gundam fan (not a middle aged man though lol), the original panel of her deep scowl is a reference to a famous scene from Gundam: 0083 Stardust Memory, where the protagonist Kou Uraki makes a contorted face of extreme anger which became a meme among gundam fans for a loooong time. The TL wasnāt able to figure it out (I assume), but I did (I think). Yay!
yeah for real, at this point iām droping this garbage, whatever schitzo shit the author wanna pretend this manga is, i donāt care any more, it was clear we will not get any actual yuri but only some dumb weirdo form of comedy (-_-) witch is way i never read the last 3 chapters because every time i see this in my update list i bloody ignore itI have so much mixed feelings about this joke/troll and clearly not good ones.
The editor should read the last sondage on Yuri readers. People who reads Yuri manga mixed compared to other demography (shonen, Shojo, etc).
But at least they make pretty clear in their marketing that this manga is targeting only MEN with all the typical outfits you found on manga to attract a male audience (bunny outfit, Maids, gym outfits, bikini) and here we have a combo, maid outfit x micro bikini.
This just reinforce the idea that Yuri manga are full of fan service, male gaze, fetishizing lesbian relationship and only guys read them.
While I agree with you broadly on the state of the manga industry, the first five chapters were all self-published without any input from editors. I get what you're saying, but also it feels pretty prudish to accuse a woman of only appealing to the male gaze and fetishizing lesbians. It kind of reduces her agency as a creative and also as a person by lumping her in with men who write fetish yuri. The dynamic is very different. This just reinforce the idea that Yuri manga are full of fan service, male gaze, fetishizing lesbian relationship and only guys read them.

Here I'm only talking about how they promote the manga and the illustrations they use to sell it. You should keep in mind that the apology letter is very tongue-in-cheek. The editor's quotes are clearly poking fun at the series being mostly a gag manga, and not "pure yuri" (even though purity yuri tends to me more male-dominated than subversive yuri). They never said that only middle-aged men read yuri, they made a joke that only middle-aged men read this manga because of its gag content. They were trying to justify throwing in a Gundam reference joke from 1991.[...]
Women can be horny, women can be freaks, women can find skimpy outfits appealing!! its not a "male" thing and I frankly find the idea that women are somehow inherently more "pure" than men misogynistic. Freaky women deserve horny content too!!I'm not accusing or blaming anyone, I'm just stating facts. They, the author and the editor, are not the first one and clearly not the last to promote a manga by drawing their characters, underage or not, in sexy provocative outfits mostly appealing to male.

All the illustrations the author draws, the bonuses you get when you buy the first volume and all the references to hentai/porn....
If I didn't read the chapters first, I would say it's another ecchi "Yuri" manga full of fan service of underage girls manly targeting middle-aged Otaku. And they being a woman doesn't legitimate or lighten anything.
