Im gonna continue to hold on to my what are essentially shreds of hopes that the author is going somewhere with this which I do believe he is doing. Bitchy girl definitely gonna do something dramatic involving the male mc I haven't figured out what yet but its what im saying is gonna happen

my best guess is they were forced by the editor to put the scrawny nerd as the main character and didn't want to. so this is probably their way of rebelling. cause otherwise i couldn't explain why this archetype is the main character in 99 % of this type of manga.

I thought the author would finally focus on the supposed "main" couple after the "side" couple's arc got wrapped up, did not expect for them to start an entirely new arc. The main two characters have moved like 5 feet from their starting position while the side girl has finished two marathons and is now starting her third one in regards to development.
