you summed that up well, none of his family treat him bad, it's just the fan girls around his brother that made him change, he was fine with the good sibling rivalry before
they both are pretty close in academic and sporty stuff, and the lil bro is now faster

A really good chapter. The brother's development is good. He's always been a nice guy, and it was actually a healthy competition on his part... As I said before, his parents and brother aren't entirely to blame for Youta's "mental issues." It's something he has to overcome. And Houjou is playing a crucial role in this, what a great FMC.

Now we just have to wait for the misunderstanding drama. I can already see a scene where the brother approaches Houjou and Youta sees them talking from afar... Oh boy, I hope I'm wrong...

Has he ever really been an asshole to him though? He doesn't want his brother to surpass him which can lead to being a dick, but he never acts like one to him from what I've read and his reasons are to be a good old brother it seems. At worst he is just ignorant of how his brother is treated because of it, but the dude is oblivious as shown several times.
