I wonder if his brother knew how the girls around him treated Youta? Because his brother seems self aware so if he did know about that then he would be kind of a dick. As the oldest sibling myself there's no way I would let someone use my brother like that and let them into my friendship circle (me and my brother are close though). That's scummy. I'm on the same boat, especially on how 2 faced some of Rei's fans are. I don't think Rei knows that his fans have been using Youta in a very underhanded way.


Doing some speculation via context clues on Youta's personality, I don't think he would be the type of person to make people look bad (even though it is wholly justified) so he just bottles it all up without anyone really knowing (other than his friends I think)


It's really weird how people try to paint Rei being a bad brother or anything like that. I feel like most people who don't understand don't really have a close connection with their sibling.

wholesome brother-brother relationship makes me so happy. I'm genuinely into this manga now, I had had such low expectations from the concept and from previous manga along similar lines, but the author really sold me on Youta's feelings about girls in the first chapters as well as the budding romance between him and Houjou. but Youta and Rei's brotherhood is what really elevates this manga from simply clearing the bar to being one of my new favorites.

Has he ever really been an asshole to him though? He doesn't want his brother to surpass him which can lead to being a dick, but he never acts like one to him from what I've read and his reasons are to be a good old brother it seems. At worst he is just ignorant of how his brother is treated because of it, but the dude is oblivious as shown several times.

He called him a slob, he rejected him when he asked to go home with him and he's constantly mentally acting as if his brother only exists to feed his insecurities. He's being very cold to him and a lot like the girls in the story not seeing the protag as a person he's not viewing his brother as a person either. He is being a dick to him intentionally or not.
