I've had some time to sit with this chapter, and a long-shot thought prediction popped up with me.
Prediction that due to the trauma of "Perfect Rei" has unintentionally been causing Tohno, I'm thinking that Rei will drop his public persona and (while unlikely) go full "slob home mode", he'll find a balance to be more normal/average.
We have seen a handful of times how (in his own way) Rei truly cares for his brother. Nearly every interaction with a classmate he is only ever asking about Tohno & his school life, the conversations are always focused on his brother. The realization that its been causing pain will cause him to undergo his own change to prevent it/stop it from occurring in the future. If the girls & school see a more normal Rei, they won't idolize him as much, thus allowing healthier & authentic relationships to form with Tohno & his classmates.
