Thanks, the more you know. What I found out is that it also might have something to do with the Yen being weaker than the Dollar/Euro. As far as I know they might make a deficit by selling it cheaper in Japan, but with the region lock they prevent scalpers and compensate the loss with the earnings in other countries.

Eh, it doesn't really concern me as I'm not a console player, but interesting to look at regardless.
