Since when has the MC been blushing anytime one of the girls gets more physical with him? I don't remember he had this kind of personality on the first arc.

So, they only powerful bcz of the "borrowed" power eh? or they do have another source of power that can be used beside the tree power?
@.@...
None what’s so ever. Pierre is only cocky cause of the tree power and his family.

Not even his family love or likes him.

He just enjoys putting himself in very favorable positions. Stroking his ego. But that doesn’t means he’s smart.

Leon and partner took advantage of that.

I know this story doesn't have the most grounded villains but what's up with these school bullies? They're so superficially evil that it's kind of off putting. Is this what people meant when the main story "falls off"? Or is the excuse because their in a bad game that they act so clinically insane?

I'm incredibly tired of cardboard cutout villains. Remember when even the villainess had an actual, complex personality? Feels like it was in a completely different story, really.
Which villainess? Surely you don't mean Angelica or the Principality's princesses? None of them were that. An actual example of one in the original story was the Count's daughter that was allied with pirates and she was a carbon copy of Pierre, down to the very facial expressions, just generswapped.

Leon wanted Luxion's help, but he didn't want any part of that mess, lol.

I feel bad for him there. Marie's harem is annoying but the nobles of the Republic are genuine douche bags.

Thanks for the upload.

That's pretty much how Leon thinks of it, though it's not actually a game... The Republic's nobility sees themselves as chosen ones, they are used to absolute obedience and zero consequences for anything they do. They are raised to be opressors, while Holfort's ones were always for the most part the opressed, not just by their women but also the weight of the responsibilities that society placed on them. Remember how Leon remarked that the commoners of Holfort don't want him to "liberate" them - they lived relatively nice lives, since they had few obligations, it was the lesser nobility that was burdoned with those.

As for the story "falling off", I guess that's part of it. The main thing is that the best ideas (and their execution) this series has to offer were already burned through in the previous manga, the author just does not perform comparably with the rest.

Really starting to dislike this arc/series. At no point has the MC shown that 'attempting to murder my family and friends' is something he'll ignore. He might not like the people he is with a ton, but this here was straight up attempted murder: Tying someone to a tree and beating them with wooden swords without them being able to defend at all?

No, if next chapter doesn't have the MC standing over these guy's ruined bodies, then guess I'll leave with the good memories of the first one.

We actually have bench marks for power scaling but I don't know if our cast will even think about them.

So a crest bearer is stronger than one of the Five Idiots, but are they as strong as the fully geared out Saint? Are they as strong as a standard mech? Are they as strong as an elite mech or a standard warship?

If a crest bearer can take a mech in a fight then yeah, Leon and the Color Gang have no business trying to face one in personal combat.

None of those benchmarks are usable, since the story does not follow such scenarios in order to find out. However, there's a reason the Republic was never defeated and the reason is the power bestowed by the tree. It's mot explored how exactly they use it in wartime, but all that arogance comes from the fact that they're unbeatable when doing so.
The tree is a product of the dead technological civilization, just like Luxion is. It's a kind of terraforming device that chooses people to protect it and bestows power upon them. Now consider that with all of that (and more) said civilization was still wiped out in the war. The original magic users were vastly more powerful than any alive today.
