I'm just stating facts. I never said I wanted an evil MC, just don't say he is evil when he isn't. It's annoying, they (especially the AI) keep repeating that.
And even if he does bad thing, he does it to people who has a way worst personality than him so from a reader pov they deserve it, MC gives them the justice they need.
Author is too forceful, he wants us to think he isn't your average MC, so he makes other characters repeat again and again that he is a bad guy otherwise we'll forget.
But all of this isn't needed, without that the MC still be pretty likable imo.

MC is nice, but also an asshole. They're not mutually exclusive. You can donate to a charity in the name of someone who opposes the cause so they get e-mails and pamphlets. It's both a good thing to do yet an asshole move. That is this MC in a nutshell. Chaotic good. He fucks with the establishment, is a dick to people in his way (or who are bigger dicks) and he's pretty selfish, but he does look out for other people when he can. He just doesn't go too far out of his way all the time.

I think they're being a bit heavy-handed with it, but I think they're doing an okay job to portray it.

Nice to see Angie can act on her emotions and feelings, albeit getting physical is likely to get her in trouble, especially with her father for acting unbecoming of a member of the family even if there's no public response. Seems like when she was young and sheltered was just as conceited as a lot of the other noble young ladies. Wonder if it was the queen training and/or Queen Milaina straightening her out and reminding her that she has a heart too? MC seems to have an uncanny knack of shooting his mouth off when irritated and saying things that really tick off practically everybody within earshot. Was humorous how Clarice's followers couldn't hassle him because all the other bikers were in the way trying to get revenge for losing all the money they foolishly bet. Is it me or does it seem like in manga that a lot of guys who inherit power and position are spoiled rotten and almost never take responsibility for their own actions or crimes but believe it's a universal truth that it's somebody else's fault they're in trouble, not their own? Clarice should be ok now that she's stopping the self-destructive behavior and starting to move forward. Hope she doesn't fall for the MC, but should be ok finding a husband as long as doesn't act like that Earl's daughter Angie fought with even if she's no longer a virgin. Especially since there's like ten males for every female in school, the men are desperate to marry to avoid social stigma from being single, and if she treats men like people rather than slaves expected to cater to every whim with no complaints she'll be seen in a better light than most of the other women. In particular she doesn't seem like the type to demand her husband pay for an exclusive residence for her and her lovers in the capital.

This comes up a lot later in the LN but the over pampering of women and wacky marriage cultural standards were deliberately arranged. Forgot the name but the country of the princess with a monster summoning flute is the cause. Way back when the country was a duchy on the edge of the kingdom's territory who decided that just because they could take whatever they wanted from other islands and even destroyed an inhabited island to harvest the float stone (which is why islands float in the air,) to make airships with. A war broke out between the kingdom trying to rein in the duchy and punish them for their crimes and they duchy who felt they had a god given right to do whatever they felt like and refused to bow down to the kingdom's authority so declared independence. The former duchy hid it's evils and tells all the citizens and princesses that it did so for noble reasons while covering up their crimes and arrogant, self-interests. Both sides did a lot of good and bad things to the other since. So to prevent another border noble from rebelling the new culture was put forth so the border nobles wouldn't be able to raise a strong military due to the expenses of paying for the extravagant prices and land for their wives homes in the capital. After all, the best stuff is in the capital and easier to mingle and brag to people of high statuses there than a small island territory really out of everybody's way and less trading. That and the wives in the capital are potential hostages if the border noble tries something. Although things seemed to have gone far beyond intended and methods to change to a more equal standing between men and women, commoner and noble are starting. Such as enlisting a talented commoner, Livia, into a school for nobles as the first of more to come.

It wasnt the enemy douchy that created the Matriarchal thing.
It was the royals themselves, they wanted to keep power in the royalty as much as possible, which is why the supported women more than men when it priviledges and benefits, thats why Ducal house daughters dont act like that, because they know it will dimish the power of nobles and its used to keep frontier nobles in line.

This of course backfired later on because the marquis that wanted to betray the kingdom to the duchy, was trying to incite a civil war with the frontier nobles being fed up with the unfair way the kingdom treated men.

Leon was apparently hyper competent back in his old life, to the point where he would probably have gotten to be the CEO of a multinational had he not died.

The issue is that he pretty much spoiled Marie since she was a kid, and ended up bending heaven and earth to please her.
Its mentioned that he would actively keep bad dudes away from her and protect her from ever getting into real trouble, which hindered him in devoloping in his career and studies.

But at the same time Marie acting like a stop gap for Leon success also helped him become more kind hearted, becuase he would have been an awful monster had he not had a little sister to soften his attitude.

Might be difference in LN but from what I understood is that main issue wasn't so much parents spent like crazy but the father had a really big gambling problem to point where sold off parts of the territory to get more money, and in alt version where Leon interfered with Marie stealing idiot quintet the father was willing to sell Marie off to a known bad and abusive husband to get enough money to pay off debt and have some left over. Also, she wasn't shouldering the debt out of familial piety or wanted to help family out, but because the family figured she was a gold mine they could dip their fingers into because she was recognized as the Saint so did some legal finagling to transfer the debt from them to her not only without her permission but informing her after the fact instead of before or during.
