Those last two pages are so underrated. They add such a great feeling of melancholy to an otherwise sort of, explosive, youthful type chapter. Those pages are what really elevate the material -- it's not just going through the motions of typical SoL, but doing some stuff you could only do in this setting and getting great emotions out of it. The chapter where they jumped was the same way. The author's really good at that.
