I only recently got my hands on fan translations, as well as community-fixed official translations. Now I'm up-to-date and read new manga chapters in parallel with LN chapters...and I have a question, not about the translation, more like...about english language?
at p.9 here she says "would be such a shame". In LN translation it's clear that she just doesn't want others to see his expressions, aka doesn't want to share him. I'm wondering, whether this phrase here, with "would be such a shame" has the same connotation? My english is not perfect in general.

That's exactly the case.

Yes, the phrase used here has the same meaning. Since the manga is from Mahiru's first-person POV, and the LN is in Mahiru's third-person POV, we get to see more of her candid thoughts rather than an explanation of them. If you're curious, the direct translation from Japanese for the line you mentioned is, "But I wonder why showing this kind of expression to others feels regrettable/disappointing…"
