To the Japanese the nape of a woman's neck is sexy.
In "My Dress up Darling" there's a similar reference, but I first heard of this when Dorothy Hamill was an Olympics figure skater. She had a distinctive hair style that was called the Wedge, which was short and exposed the nape of her neck. A Time magazine article interview with her hairdresser (what was from Japan? Maybe?) has him mention this peculiarity of the Japanese toward the neck.

Dunno, but another peculiarity is the phrase "Wash your neck before you come to the duel", or something like that. The idea is that the speaker is saying that they will definitely win the duel, and doesn't want to dirty their sword when they cut their opponent's head off.
With all these panels, it feels like I'm looking at Mahiru through Amane's perspective. She's way too cute I'm going to die and..w-woah there kiddo where are you looking (twice in different spots, even) 🍻💢
