WHEN BABIES
People can't watch them flirting without some overarching goal to achieve, obstacle to overcome, or drama to get throughHonestly, that part is so sweet. It makes me wonder what went wrong with season 2, I couldn't get past episode 2 or 3 I don't remember and from what I've seen online, I'm far from the only one... I hope it'll be better in the manga version but it'll be in a few years at that rhythm

This is just in the third book of fifteen being adapted with a sixteenth due in a few months. Don't read unless you wanna be fully spoiled (rotten or otherwise): they get together in the next book. There is tons of story after that. The "painful" part is relatively minor. Endure.Okay, it's a great manga otherwise, and this isn't new, but holy shit is the progress glacial. The better the writing, the more painful it is to see it being used for what all the romance manga do instead of for progressed relationships.
Yall need JesusJUST FUCK ALREADY
Couldn’t agree more. With all the growth and subtle progression they have gone through so far, the story has earned the right for moments like flirting just to flirt or whatever. Not everything needs to be exhausting, I don’t want to come out of every interaction feeling mentally taxed.People can't watch them flirting without some overarching goal to achieve, obstacle to overcome, or drama to get through
Pretty good analysis and I whole heartily agree with your assessment that he is in denial and not dense. Amane is a very emotionally intelligent character that has a lot of trauma.Amane sees that it's okay to lean on Mahiru for support when he needs it, which is at the core of his issues with trusting people. He doesn't want to be betrayed again, so he keeps this wall around himself. However, for him to truly mature, he needs to learn how to distinguish which people to trust and which people to wall off, which he will do in V5
I would put Amane more in denial than dense, since he's aware of his growing feelings and the effect Mahiru has on him, but he's trying to deflect these issues so he doesn't have to confront them.
