She very clearly states this part of his personality (his extreme desire to cherish her and treat her desires carefully) is a LARGE part of why she fell for him. She is ok with him going slowly - it part of what she likes about him.

This is the most important point that many seem to forget; he wants nothing less than to hurt her, even if he's a bit extreme in his caution.

Btw I'm not trying to throw shade at the scanlators or anything. They're doing a good job and it costs me nothing to read this. The release schedule not working well for me is purely my problem.

I can understand your frustrations. Unfortunately, we aren't the ones who are splitting the chapters, and we posted this chapter within hours of it being released in Japanese. This is just how Square Enix chooses to publish it, and if we wait for all 3-4 parts of each chapter before translating, we will 100% get sniped by people who don't care about quality, accuracy, or the reading experience, so we have to play the same game.

The best compromise I could think of was to include a dedicated credits page only after the final part of each chapter, instead of after every part, so readers who wait to read all parts of a chapter in one go can have an uninterrupted reading experience.

HOW does our MC cope that she doesn't feel the same way after hearing her say that in front of the whole classroom!?

Like yes I know, "most important person" does not automatically mean "romantic interest." What, does he value her trust in him so much that he's terrified of violating it by being untoward? Is that it?

Adding on to what others have said, we also need to consider what Mahiru told Amane at the start of the series: that he should never get any funny ideas, or misunderstand her intentions for being more than what they are. Amane being incredibly considerate in silent ways and very intentional with the distance he keeps between them (as we see in After the Rain) are two big reasons why Mahiru fell for him, and those two facets of him largely work against him when it comes to making huge changes to their relationship. And then, of course, there's his (current) lack of self-assurance stemming from his failure to properly read the intentions of his middle school "friends," which makes it even harder for him to take a step that could cause him to lose the special friendship he has with Mahiru

Haven't you watched the anime? The scene after this(when they get home) he says what would you have done if I chosed that moment to confess(speaking hypotheticaly since they didn't confess yet),and she replies with:knowing you you wouldn't have done that since it would've caused a scene(of sum like that)
