Yusuf is actually Karluk's brother-in-law, married to Karluk's older sister Seleke.

Also:
Until now (latest chapters), Karluk has been shown to be the only son of the Eihon Household (he has a lot of sisters, but no brother), thus making him the next patriarch once his father isn't anymore. Probably one of the reasons he's so responsible so young.
