this game is so unrealistically op but I don't care I'm gobbling this story up this is what I'm here for

Could be 100% Ai Generated gaming with very loose limits and boundaries that the player is allowed to play with, letting situations like this occur. I don't think the average player would have gone down routes like this. The Ai probably also has the capability to make animations on the fly and what not meaning it doesn't have to wait for the DM/GM to approve of things and they're just there to kind of nudge the story in ways they would like without the same restrictions players have.

It's only briefly mentioned in the early chapters, but in the WN they did put an emphasis on this game is very likely running on a complex world simulation. The game basically has no "main" story, but is a massive sandbox for the players to play around. In a way, this is an isekai without the actual isekai.

Rare is just that lucky because she choosed to spawn in monster territory as an elf, just happened to spawn next to the cat girls (who have relatively higher stats), gained enough trust from the cat girls to discover the subordinate skill, which arguably is the most important skill Rare has obtained.

So it's not her having the fleeting thought of "are my skellingtons gay"?

Well, once they're no longer skeletons, maybe she'd start considering it?

As skeletons they maybe all bones but they can't get boner so...

yeah I totally get what you mean but certain things like being able to tame absolutely anything extremely easily (even a fuckin tree) with just 3 skills you can obtain a few minutes after starting the game is really broken even considering all that

This is where I realized how much info this manga has cut out. As I mentioned above, Rare got extremely lucky. Her getting 300 XP right at the start of the game is already unusual because most beginner players won't spawn in with enemies as powerful as the catgirls (who are counted as bosses) outside their spawn point. Although this is less the problem with the manga, but the novel author did not properly quantify how much XP will be earned if you grind normally, so it was hard to compare just how much 300 XP is for a beginner player.

And to get the subordinate skill, you need to go down 4 different skill trees (3 of those have questionable utility, another thing not explained in the manga), none of those have any offensive skills, and she had to burn through almost 400 XP for it. This wasn't a skill meant for beginner players and most players won't start investing in these skills before any offensive skills, and Rare only did it because she specifically knew about this skill and tried to reverse engineer (or whatever the correct word is) the prerequisite skills. Later on, there is a top ranking player who went down 2 of these trees, but he still skipped over the others because he don't see any point in picking those skills.

With all that said, is this series of coincidences extremely contrived and shows how unbalanced the game balance is? Absolutely and we love this story for it.

If I understand correctly, it's like you have to kill 100 enemies to get 1 XP. Killing weaker enemies only gives you 0.5 points instead of 1 towards that 100 points, while killing something stronger gives you 1.5 points, but that ratio depends on how weaker/stronger the enemy is than the player. You also lose 10% of your total XP when you die, minions don't count towards that.
At least thats how i understand how it works.

Rare uses ants (instead of doing it herself) to kill players and mobs, ants are weak individually, but Rare uses tactics and numbers to kill.

Yeah that's fair. One thing though, it being hidden doesn't really change much once it becomes public knowledge. Like, if this were a real game, once someone (other than Rare) stumbled upon it they would absolutely share it and then half the players would have access to it (since even though it still requires a decent amount of xp it's really powerful so worth going for, and it doesn't seem like a crazy amount either) and it's completely unrealistic that no one other than her would try that combination. But it's a manga so who cares whoooo

I really enjoy this series~
Thanks for the bringing us this update everyone from N scans and Toruscans @nerudo

I wanter her to use that stone on herself... but it's probably better this way there might be a chance you can use it only once and mc should really use a higher ranked stone~

Idk what the original Japanese says, but I feel like 'evolution' would be a better term for the process as opposed to 'reincarnation'
I came to make this comment myself. I have no clue why it’s not the higher topic of discussion in this thread. No one of the NPCs or the MC are dying and coming back to life. They are “evolving” at least in the fantasy/video game trope style way.

Calling it reincarnation is jarring and silly.

Went to check the raw WN, they used the word 転生 (tensei). I guess it's just meant to sound cool and have no deeper meaning to it.

So the word just means “transformation “. Reincarnation is a stupid word to use instead of that.

Is no one gonna comment on Rare's new outfit? They didn't say it, but you can see the visual effects of her switching to it on the first page. And dang that's a good looking design.
The uniform with frills fit her well as a militaristic elf princess:glee: It's a very welcome change to have her high elf form have it's own outfit and even if it's only for less than a day, I guess it's also an investment for future merch like in-game cards hehe. I wonder if they'd also show her dark elf form even if it's supposed to be skipped too.

Kinda odd how it says "permission to reincarnate into Death Knight" in the first popup, and then "permit spending 100 xp for reincarnation to Death Lord?" in the next popup. Not even a TL thing, I checked the raw and it's there too.
That’s because the philospher stone increases the entity by two ranks, so he essentially can skip right over death knight into death lord
