I have no idea, and I really think it's the (actual) subtly misogynistic premise of the whole thing that is bothering me.

The actual "love me when I hurt you" combined with the assumption that the guy automatically deserves something/anything from her...

I love Japan. But it's getting kinda hard finding things of this type that make me happy to read.
