Is Nakano a SCP now? Did her horrible taste in clothing finally manifest itself into reality?

I still might be green about these classifications, but this seems more Safe than Euclid to me since it has to be interacted with for anything to happen

I understand what you mean. Euclid usually only applies to things where unknown things may happen regardless of whether it was stored.

This thing seems pretty much harmless if there isn’t a thrower, and if properly secured in a case.

It's Euclid because how it generates the events are very random and potentially dangerous. The comic doesn't mention it but the wiki notes that SCP-539 prefers to use animals for distractions.

It was written somewhere on the SCP website that a lot of the earlier SCPs weren't as standardized in their categorizations. I agree though this one should probably be safe, since you could lock this in a locker, throw away the key, and it would be more or less contained.

From: http://www.scp-wiki.net/object-classes

If an SCP is very dangerous should its Object Class be higher?

No, danger does not really affect an SCP's Object Class. As has been reiterated several times above this, an item's Object Class is more based on the difficulty of containment rather than the danger it otherwise poses. For example, a button that can destroy the entire universe when it's pressed would be safe, whereas a cat who randomly switches places with another cat anywhere on earth would be considered Keter.

Older SCPs (generally ones under 1000) didn't really follow the classification system used today. If the SCP was released today it would be classed Safe, because you can lock it in a box and forget about it safely.

Is it really "safe" in a box? If the box falls then something might happen to force the guards to look at it.

I think Euclid is more something that can be dangerous, yes it can be perfectly contained but if it has the capacity to hurt/Unexist someone but not the intention then that is euclid

If SCP-539 is locked inside a case and the case is thrown, does its properties still activate?

I'm honestly surprised that the SCP people didn't stop to consider that the thing might cause a Keter breach as a distraction.
