I don't really like the requirement of killing the driver. From the description there doesn't seem to be anything at play other than mind control. It doesn't really make sense for it to be impossible to forcibly remove the driver. You'd have to invoke some added effect like an impenetrable force field or strength augmentation for it to make sense and there would be experiments to probe the effect.

This actually explains it pretty well, this manga really did a bad job emphasizing the whole “excitement” aspect of the SCP.
So I guess people riding it become roided-up in adrenaline to the point of being superhuman...although that still doesn’t explain how their bodies can take the stress and how a normal forklift can actually pose much of a threat to others.

The full article on the actual SCP site states that tranqs have no effect, dragging the personnel out without injury is impossible, and only death is able to stop people from going back to the forklift.

I wonder: what will happen if the gayest man was to encounter the orange lift?

@SunSun the problem is that those effects are much different than the primary mind control effects and would warrant extremely extensive investigation rather than a small blurb. For instance if a dragging force could be resisted how many tons of force can be applied and nullified? What about other forces like electromagnetic forces... could those be nullified too? If tranquilizers had no effect what about reducing oxygen content in the air? Could the forklift then allow the driver to survive a vacuum?

These are all scientific questions that would immediately arise and are glossed over just to make sure the mind-control SCP has a fatal effect of some sort.

Dude, you're over thinking it. The subject physically resists all attempts to remove by force. Any all attempts fail because the subject basically fights their way back, causing injury to themselves and any personnel. Use of machines would just result in attack by the subject operating the forklift. Death is the only thing that ends it, cause the forklift doesn't resurrect people apparently. Holy shit it's that simple.

@SunSun That's silly. What prevents a simple taser from working? You can't just say it doesn't work without a reason. The reason is not properly described or documented.

the 'violent past' requirement is so vague and uninteresting
