Another one of those completely nonsensical drama arcs... I mean, I get that Fumi is intimidated by her family and that their influence makes things complicated, but the way this is handled makes absolutely no sense if you stop and think about it for even five seconds.
She is an adult. She has a job. Rinta is an adult too, has a supportive father, and has his own means of earning a stable income. They already managed to run away together, so what exactly is stopping them from simply living their own lives and getting proper legal help? The story keeps treating them as if they're helpless teenagers who have no options whatsoever.
And that's what bothers me about this whole thing. I'm perfectly willing to accept that Fumi is emotionally and psychologically trapped by her family. That's believable. But the manga keeps turning that emotional pressure into practical restrictions that just don't hold up when you apply basic real-world logic.
Honestly, I feel like I have to turn my brain off to enjoy this manga. Because the moment I start thinking about what these characters could realistically do, half of the problems the author creates just disappear.
And it's especially frustrating because this is an adult cast. If they were teenagers, you could at least say, "They're young, inexperienced, financially dependent, and don't know any better." But they're adults with jobs, money, supportive people around them, and actual alternatives.
Ever since that f***** senpai arc, it feels like the author has just been stacking one situation after another to keep the drama going. Although, to be fair, this conflict actually feels more genuine than the whole senpai arc, dude was building his own criminal record speedrun. At least Fumi's situation with her family makes sense on an emotional level. It's the way the story keeps turning that emotional conflict into seemingly insurmountable practical obstacles that makes me roll my eyes.
At some point, it stops feeling like the characters are genuinely trapped and starts feeling like they're being deliberately prevented from taking the obvious solution just so the story can continue.
I swear this manga requires a very specific level of "don't think about it too much" to work. Lmao
