Again, why do they need to dissolved the adoption in the first place? She is a grown adult, from the law perspective she should be a fully independent individual from her foster parents why is all this commotion for?

It seems that under Japanese law, she has to sever ties with her adoptive father first in order to legally elope with him, based on the previous chapter. Cmiiw.

All what I found is only that she cannot get married before 20 without parents approval and suppose to help them if they grew too old, become disabled or fall into a financial crisis, etc. Apart from this there seems no any other restrictions and this is a drama made of simple Japanese elitism and social hierarchy

And why should they run? If parents become annoying - send them to ban and cut all ties and live your life. If they continue and try to abuse their social status - gather evidences and go the court

She is against time; he is planning to marry her off to cut her escape from freedom of their control. And based on what we saw here, no is willing to represent them in court.

Forced marriage is strictly prohibited in Japan - this is a literal crime to force someone into a marriage. And if such the case happens state provides a government-appointed defense lawyer

Another one of those completely nonsensical drama arcs... I mean, I get that Fumi is intimidated by her family and that their influence makes things complicated, but the way this is handled makes absolutely no sense if you stop and think about it for even five seconds.

She is an adult. She has a job. Rinta is an adult too, has a supportive father, and has his own means of earning a stable income. They already managed to run away together, so what exactly is stopping them from simply living their own lives and getting proper legal help? The story keeps treating them as if they're helpless teenagers who have no options whatsoever.

And that's what bothers me about this whole thing. I'm perfectly willing to accept that Fumi is emotionally and psychologically trapped by her family. That's believable. But the manga keeps turning that emotional pressure into practical restrictions that just don't hold up when you apply basic real-world logic.

Honestly, I feel like I have to turn my brain off to enjoy this manga. Because the moment I start thinking about what these characters could realistically do, half of the problems the author creates just disappear.

And it's especially frustrating because this is an adult cast. If they were teenagers, you could at least say, "They're young, inexperienced, financially dependent, and don't know any better." But they're adults with jobs, money, supportive people around them, and actual alternatives.

Ever since that f***** senpai arc, it feels like the author has just been stacking one situation after another to keep the drama going. Although, to be fair, this conflict actually feels more genuine than the whole senpai arc, dude was building his own criminal record speedrun. At least Fumi's situation with her family makes sense on an emotional level. It's the way the story keeps turning that emotional conflict into seemingly insurmountable practical obstacles that makes me roll my eyes.

At some point, it stops feeling like the characters are genuinely trapped and starts feeling like they're being deliberately prevented from taking the obvious solution just so the story can continue.

I swear this manga requires a very specific level of "don't think about it too much" to work. Lmao

Who needs lawyers, the 'father' is the only one with a reputation to lose, just need the evidence of abuse.
this whole thing is stupid, they don't even need evidence. just his daughter publically stating he abused/traumatized her is enough to tank his reputation.

the only issue here is fumis mentality which, by the looks of the last page, has hopefully already been solved.

They do need evidences though because Japan has this law that could punish you for baseless accusation - if I remember correctly this is one of the biggest reasons why it is so hard for women to prove sexual assaults when these happens (basically you could end up guilt if the oppressor has more power or better lawyer)

doubt that, Japan has a 99% conviction rate, if you get accused of SA your life's done, onus is on you. Biggest reason people dont come forward is social stigma more than anything
