It's a slice of life story about a girl with a huge father complex and the void left by her mother on hers and her dad's lives. The dad's very famous and successful, tall and handsome and very popular with nearly all the women he meets and has no personality flaws whatsoever and he even works hard to be perfect for his daughter. He's pretty much superman and the author spends chapter upon chapter upon chapter hammering that point in. It maybe would've worked better if he was only perfect in Chise's eyes and not perfect perfect. That said it's an enjoyable read and doesn't feel dated despite it being more than 30 years

That's definitely diappointing. For example, Chapter 9, in the first few pages.
The Japanese text is
ちせちゃん、そのかっこアナ・カンね
うんまるっきり
ジャドが(そよきっ not sure about this part)(*edit: it's ジャドが好きっ)
Which would be something like
Chise, you're dressed like that guy from Anakan, right? (Another Country, a movie)
Yes, exactly like him!
Judd (the actor) (something, couldn't read the small text on my raw version)
Anyway, the translated text here is not related at all.
I don't mean this as an attack or anything. I simply have nowhere else to write this, and I'd feel sad if stuff like this were not mentioned somewhere.
