The dad's very famous and successful, tall and handsome and very popular with nearly all the women he meets and has no personality flaws whatsoever and he even works hard to be perfect for his daughter. He's pretty much superman and the author spends chapter upon chapter upon chapter hammering that point in. It maybe would've worked better if he was only perfect in Chise's eyes and not perfect perfect. That said it's an enjoyable read and doesn't feel dated despite it being more than 30 years old.

I don't mean to be rude or overly critical, but it seems like the translation is a bit lacking at times. I appreciate the team that dedicated their time to bring us this great manga in English, but perhaps because I consider this manga to be a masterpiece, my standards for the translation are also relatively high. Hoping that a version 2.0 of this translation, etc. will be available for everyone to enjoy one day.
