Is the original dialogue this stilted or is it poor translation?

The way Youta talks to everyone feels so artificial. I don't know, it's not like this manga is a literary masterpiece either. You know, we're all like Lilia too - we're just looking at the pictures in this manga mostly

Calling the scent of a woman in heat the "smell of protein" is sooooo weird it's almost alien. And as someone else commented earlier, is the scent actually a 'narcotic' or is it supposed to be 'aphrodisiac'?

His way of talking and behaving during sex stuff seems really deliberately detached, sadistic and humiliating, and the story isn't really providing any kind of reason for this - the pheromones(? sigh) the ladies give off make him lose rational thought and... not pounce on a girl, no, it makes him squint dispassionately into her butthole like he thinks he might have lost his keys in there.

I refuse to think about this any harder than the author did, but we probably already have.
