I feel like the nudity kinda... works? It's very direct as a visual metaphor, but the whole dream is like that. She falls in love for the first time, and flowers bloom. The girl she loves dies, and a hole opens up in her heart, she falls to pieces. Her innermost feelings are exposed, so she's exposed. It's not very complicated, but it's evocative.
Edit: I mean, it's definitely a choice, and I think it could have been handled more tastefully. And if people find it distracting and confusing, then the purpose is pretty much lost. But I got what the author was going for, I guess.
