I just want to inform you about an error:I don't think I will ever get enough of the trope of "isekai/past person reacting to modern inventions".
It is not the "Roman Empire" but the "Holy Roman Emire"
The difference is not only time but also origin. Geographically and ethnicity.
The Roman Empire is, from nowadays perspective, Italien around 2000 years ago while the Holy Roman Empire is, again, from nowadays perspective, German around 700 years ago. (I shortened it.)
The name was chosen because part of religious part of political reason.
It might be clearer if one knows the name that was used starting 200 years later: Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation
I don't know if this is in the Japanese raw, but even if not, it might help some readers, who might wonder.
By the way: "Franken" is "Franconia", it is mostly part of northern Bavaria, and it is the last area in Germany which sticks to the name of the Franconian Empire, from which the Holy Roman Empire derived, in it the City of Nuremberg, the city of the Franconian emperors.
