2nd time a chapter has skipped forward and started in the middle of a scene. Makes you think you missed a chapter, but no, it just is that way. Bad!
Also, I wasn't familiar with “great cousin”, but apparently it's a 3rd way to refer to the cousin of your parents, altho it's absolutely worse than “1st-cousin once-removed” which itself is worse than “2nd-uncle” (or “2nd-aunt” for females). Maybe defensible on foreignizational grounds depending upon what was used in Japanese, but even then I would've almost certainly still domesticationally gone with “second-uncle” or “2nd uncle” simply because those other terms should not exist. So bad term and definitely or argueably bad use!
