My read has been that shes a future version of Elsa who lost her Evie, so now she's mucking around with time travel trying to undo the bad ending she got. If past Elsa met future Elsa it would probably fuck a lot of things up.

Did i missed anything ? all of this doesnt seem to match in chapter 1 ?
in chapter 1 she doesnt seem to be me the same little girl who know Evie and is saved by her since she was a kid at all

In my understanding, the consciousness of the "present" and "past" evie switched places so technically the "past" evie is the one in chapter one.

She never met the "past" elsa because the "present" evie interfered.
