To be honest, this whole arc has just been weak writing. I mean this new system thing was already somewhat forced, especially since this is the first showing of the system since chapter 58 when The Villainess system was "recovering" (aka disappearing never to return because it's hard to write around). Even then, that means the ONLY person that claims this new system exists is the SAME PERSON that was revealing that they are antagonistic this chapter. Perhaps this was all another part of the ruse that Dorothee is using since she obviously has hidden intentions.Did you forget what Dorothee said not three or four chapters ago? The system (read as "The Game") is trying to reassert itself so the story plays out as normal. She's trying to throw as many wrenches into the cogs as possible to fully break the game, and having her past self/replicate experience taking on the curse for Evie to come swooping in to reaffirm her love and devotion, thereby pushing back the curse is all a part of the plan.
And if Dorothee had something planned about pushing back the curse, then I missed that part where that was mentioned. To be fair, the rules of the curse are pretty vague too, as it supposedly drains ones mana/vitality constantly until the holder dies--as seen by Yvonne's mother--but can be activated by emotions or.. whatever happened a couple of chapters ago.
This is an interesting direction the author could go, so I hope this is the case.My thought is that Elsa and Dorothee are separate individuals, and Dorothee is the anomaly that is being erased. She just needed Elsa to believe that she is a replica to further push the system into breaking.
