every time we get a new chapter of this manga, I feel like:

is that a mistranlation early on? pikachu shakes his head when ash asks if he wants to evolve into a raichu, then says i see u want to become a super awesome raichu who will beat him up! is it supposed to say super awesome pikachu?

he didn't shake his head, pikachu moved his head to look at Red as he was thinking while looking up about the Raichu from Viridian Forest.

Interestingly enough, we can see Ash's eyes seemingly glowing when he understands his Pokemon... Which may imply he had Aura Potential.

I get the feeling he will have a LOT of Lucario and Riolus being VERY interested in him.

Also, I LOVE how Dragonite is portrayed here. Rather than the Overly Cutesy tiny wings on the back, we get Charizard sized wings that, while still Small COMPARED to Dragonite, are CLEARLY able to allow it to FLY.

Adding to that, this Manga REMEMBERS Dragonite Lore, that at Cruising Speed, a Dragonite can circle the planet Three times in the span of a few Hours... Extreme Speed on a Dragonite would be so fast, that in the time it takes to BLINK, Dragonite could cross a fifty foot gap and be bashing your face in!

I mean, it Clearly shows that outside of Battle, Dragonite would be a Goofy Goober (Especially the part where while using Barrier, Dragonite is seen to be casually scratching it's chin as if saying "Hey, did you get that itch?")... But IN battle? Dragonite is TERRIFYING.

Should we get to see MEGA Dragonite in this, I hope Dragonite will actually have TWO Sets of Angel Wings... Or if we go full force with it? THREE Sets of Angel Wings, giving it a Dragonic Archangel look.

also more than Dragonite Lore, it's the reference to Pokemon Crystal where we get a Dratini with Extreme Speed in Dragon's Den if we answer right to the elder.

I guess Red's getting Gigantamax somehow then? Otherwise how does he convincingly become champion?
I love all the extra mechanics (Mega Evolve and Z moves) added to this tournament btw. It just makes sense for the world of Pokemon that they already exist during this time.

he can't get gigantamax because it's fully a regional thing, except if they would try to bring some big ass crystals to allow that energy to be used, it could be more probably the Z-move for him.

1. I almost thought Agatha was stupid, using ground type bonemerang into Xatu, but it was actually shadow bone which was super effective. It’s not meant to pass through stuff unlike a certain protect-bypassing urshifu, but this is a manga so it gets a pass. (Pun not intended)

I think it's more like ghost move pass through object which maybe count as normal type? But it's lifted by psychic so it shouldn't be a normal type but psychic

One chapter of this has more effort than the games have into them nowadays. Imagine of the games actually were this kino. Even half as much would be like going from 1 to 1000.
Only this manga can actually make you give a shit and care and feel hyped about an obscure neglected character like Agatha of all people. Even despite not giving a single shit about Z-Moves I got hype as hell when Agatha pulled it out and clapped like crazy when she, I assume she said so in the raws, the "ZENRYOKU" that always goes along with Z-Moves.
What a shame. Why can't things just be good?

I did feel bad at the end though. As a rare person who's not butthurt about Clair 20 years after the fact just because she threw a tantrum and actually likes her. She truly can never get a break.

Also, was the [Boomerang] A-Marowak using meant to be [ホネブーメラン] because if so then it's supposed to be Bonemerang.

2. Claire’s Kingdra knows Scale Shot despite this manga starting from before Scale Shot was even invented (i think), which means the artist is actually keeing up with recent Pokemon games and adding new stuff accordingly, which is fucking amazing.

Makes you wonder if the author has at least a vague outline of how he wanted everything to go where the details can be modified so as to add things like the gimmicks or new moves in the battles, which while cool, don't really "change" all that much, or if he's straight-up making everything on the fly.
