Why did they have to have sex when both of them are so against it and it's politically disadvantageous? They could just lie down quietly in bed, nobody would dare to watch the show anyway 😂😂😂
@Eclat123 I wouldn't be so sure. It was common practice for the couple to have their first night watched by handmaiden. They would make sure they did the deed and would bring the bloodied sheet after the penetration. Or would sully it with someone's else blood if the bride lost her virginity or her hymen. Such a practice can be seen in the movie La Princesse de Montpensier, which uses actual historic sources.
Good job! Well done in most respects. I do think you should team up with an English-speaking editor to clean up the grammar, but the translations were all clearly understandable and the typesetting did not suck. Thanks much for bringing out a new title for us, as well!
Interested to see how this story will go. I kind of expected it to be more....silly, frankly, because of the tagline in the title, but I dunno, Berta seems pretty levelheaded which I like?? Thanks for the translation!
Poor Margarita. It's so cruel of the author to treat her like that, just because she is a canon fodder. I bet the author is either going to make her die or made her lose her position as the first queen, just so that mc can be with the king 😡.
@yumian her situation sucks, but she's not exactly innocent. It's not depicted as well in the manga (chapter 1), but
when she said that she wanted to "save him" from his sinful blood, she actually hurt him really bad. This is directly from ch 2 of the novel:
But the words that Margarita, who broke down in tears after experiencing her last miscarriage, were heard by Harold, and devastated him.
"--I wanted to save you."
She wanted to atone for the sinful blood that flowed in her husband's body, with the half of the pure blood of royal lineage that flowed in her body.
That was Margarita's justice, which meant that Harold would continue to be treated as an unfortunate child born of the sin of his father...
The spoiler encased is from chapter 2 of the novel. It goes more in depth about the situations mentioned in chapter 1, so it shouldn't be a big spoiler.
