It's kinda too late to try and backpedal from everything that happened. Both for the girl and the MC. Even if she tries to justify it as her wanting him to become stronger, she did push him to this. Plus, part of her was really lashing out against what happened to her.
And the MC has gone beyond redemption as well. At least he doesn't try to pretend otherwise.
