Proposal to Combine completed half chapters to one

I see a lot of chapters that are too messy with some being half of a chapter (1.1, 1.2 to 1.4) while others are full chapters. I just hope that we can somehow fix these chapters that have been completed for better organization. (It's also because these half chapters are messing with my brain.)

Also omake. I don't know what to do with them as one series have an omake in every chapters. Maybe combine them in the last chapter of the volume as a .5?

Also this only applies to chapters that are fully translated, so if chapter 36.2 is finished and they are moving on to chapter 37.1 according to the raw release, chapter 36 should be able to be combined

That was done for this manga, but in order to keep the discussion threads available, the half-chapter entries were kept anyway.

Nah, its a "you problem", please dont make it site-wide problem by enforcing merging after a full chapter is done. and from reading around, its the publisher just trying to get more money and maybe help lessen up the load on the mangaka. As for omake, depends really, if the scanlator is using the volume release then I see no problem to put all them together as .5 and if its weekly then .5 is also good enough. Hell, if there are omake for every quarter chapter release, lets go x.x.5 :pepela:

About splitting there are mainly two cases: when the series is published online and when the scanlator does it on purpose to pool donations. For the first case, MangaDex guidelines stipulate that they have to be uploaded as is, without combining them refer to 3.2.2 as BraveDude clarified. For the latter, it is not allowed and when that happens (provide evidence like a link to the publisher webpage) the best course of action is reporting it. Not every digitally published series splits chapters, and some scanlators wait to have both halves or the volume release to upload it as a sole chapter, just check each case individually.

Report it and it'll get dealt with, but it's a completely manual process and may take a while for moderators to fix.

If the omake is released with the chapter, it should really be in the chapter.

There are no reports for chapter merges on that manga; it's more likely that either the raws or the scanlator switched to combining chapters. If chapters are merged by moderators the comment threads will be merged together too, and you wouldn't see the split chapter entries at all.

For the first case, MangaDex guidelines stipulate that they have to be uploaded as is, without combining them.
This is incorrect, we'd rather you always upload the combined chapter because otherwise it's going to need to be combined in the future anyway. Issues arise with reading order when there are multiple groups working on the same chapters and one is splitting chapters when the other isn't, but we'd still prefer all relevant chapters to be combined rather than split.
