Thanks for the two chapters in quick succession!!
Ok, I was wrong in the previous chapter :worry:
at first I thought "oh yeah he must be ok since he's only knocked that girl out and the islanders are acting a bit weird insisting people go to the houses on the hill" but him killing that guy with the cleaver and turning him into a meatball is pretty hard to see the bright side about.
But he's still leaving the non-islanders alone so I think it's still likely that something else is going on.

I still hold my opinion that the islanders do something shady, and he killed them for it.
The first thing Kusaba does to both MC and her friend, the outsiders, is to incapacitate them when he has a gun and a hatchet on hand. While at the same time, the college guys get shot on sight, the police are almost cut down, and the village chief's son is actually cut down.

I think the village sacrificed the girls, and kusaba got revenge by killing the villagers in the original timeline. at least that's my guess. The flower field is suspicious in some way too.

None of this explains the meatball though.

I think the flower crown is for sacrifices too.

Damn, though we did see his house and how hes treated but dude seem to handle that all okay, until now that is. Also, arent bears do this meatball thing to keep their excess food?

The college guy was originally a resident of this island right? Isn’t it odd that he lied to these girls and brought them to this remote island without their proper consent or knowledge then conveniently backed it up using his family as an excuse. The strange soldier is the perfect cover to divert attention away from being suspicious of the residents by having the convenient rumors of a murder hobo, because that threat stands out brighter than the quiet deception around them and is something to reasonably worry about after all. As for the soldier, him being branded as a sinner and the locals having not killed him yet despite their fears and discrimination makes me wonder. Was he perhaps involved in a ritual and his rejection of their “traditions” provoked the chief to banish him to a decrepit home and deny him of any supplies, in hopes he could simply perish, but his resilience and survival instincts have led him to becoming the island’s boogeyman to which the chief i presume uses this rumor and fear to his advantage?

You will find out later. Saying this as someone who has read ahead.

Thanks for the chapter! What are the manga at the end?
Ingoshima and almost immortal.
These are the first few series I am looking to translate in house and work out possibly making physical volumes officially. I just need to work out logistics there.

Glad everyone is stoked for the series to come back. I hope I'm doing an okay job for everyone. These are my first dabbles in wide release translation.

Good effort so far!
Only 2 real notes:
1.) Try to start doing "center aligned" on your text rather than "left aligned"
2.) Be sure to double-check your punctuation and font sizing.
Other than that good effort.

What's your current turn around per chapter? I.e what's your release schedule looking like?

Appreciate the notes greatly!!
Finding a groove for sizing has been a little bit of a hurdle.
So far turn around is roughly 6ish hours depending on the script. I've got all 11 volumes i own scanned, I'm finishing cleaning volume 6 now. And the translation bit is pretty quick on this particular series. It just depends on if a portion feels off to me.
I currently do all work myself so any tips or notes are extremely helpful!

Great to hear. I started out doing scanlation by myself too. I'll comment if I have any notes and I hope they help you out. If you ever need advice don't be afraid to reach out.
