Her mom is a complete idiot. Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself and there's more to the situation. But her way of thinking disregards years of empirical research and evidence that basically shutdowns her entire "argument."

Fuyumine should have pushed back more. I'm not gonna lie: it was kinda pathetic of Fuyumine to back down from what was clearly a biased, unsupported argument. Sure everything she said applies to him, but he's a special case.

Thanks for the translation.

It's rather frustrating how quick he backed down. Sure, those things may apply to you if all you do is watch movies day in and day out but that's nowhere near what he's asking.

Especially when she brings up the point of being able to make friends. What's more likely to hamper your ability to make friends? Watching movies or having to tell people "Oh, I'm sorry I can't do that because my mom said so"/"I can't install that because of the parental controls on my phone" whenever you're invited to go somewhere or talk outside of school?

I couldn't have made a better argument myself. When I was a child my parents were kinda like that, and it took me until senior year of high school to get to the same level of social skills as my peers, so I definitely feel empathetic toward Amou in this situation.

The whole argument is obviously complete nonsense but hes still a highschooler and everything she said ended up hitting close to home (also the dude is kinda an idiot lol). Though honestly even if he came up with a counterargument (like how he became friends with her daughter through watching movies together) she wouldve just made up some other bullshit or use her authority to shut him up.

He's some random kid her daughter knows, and you want him to argue with the mom? It's hard enough to get anyone to change their minds on issues they have no commitment to. This is clearly a deeply ingrained belief, and making enemies of your friend's parents isn't the way to get their permission for her join your club
