I love that this French manga author is tackling racism and prejudice in his home country in such a tounge and cheek way: like actually having characters espouse racist rhetoric and be shown in the wrong is quite refreshing
I think tongue-in-cheek is a bit different than this. It'd be like sarcastically acting as one of the racists here in a humorous manner that implies contempt for the people actually doing that stuff.
