For those who have just found it and are looking to give it a try, just do it, its so much worth it.
The start may be seriously shounen, to an annoying degree, but i recommend to read through until atleast volume 4, the story just gets so much better.
Also releases are sort of sporadic, because new chapters come out with the volume release, just be careful to not forget about this story because of this.

manhwa and manhua are manga-adjacent given the China/Korea/Japan localization. Radiant is something published originally in France. Its a French comic. If they're gonna allow that, they might as well allow other manga inspired Western comics.

While Radiant is french, it's a manga. It's not a bande dessinée inspired by manga, it's not a comic inspired by manga, it's a manga. It's made in the form of a manga, it follows all manga codes. If it weren't for that french flag on the page most people would never even notice it's French. It's even published in Japan as well and sold as a manga, it has a japanese anime adaptation. So no it's not just "some french comic" labelled as a manga and it has its place on mangadex.

The correct explanation is that it got published in Japan by a manga company and even got an anime, which makes it a manga by definition. If there were manga of Basquash! or Oban Star Racers they would qualify too.

@Ayreos Basquash and Oban were anime original. Also Basquash had a manga adaptation but it was only promotional shit with 2 volumes.

don't call it comic ( is a manga but ) "comics" is american, you can call it "BD" for" Bande dessinée" which mean "strip drawing " "comique" has its own word in french .
BD is a général word , which encompasses all styles

Actually I can tell you that a lot of joke loses its meaning in the translation, and the manga makes a lot of references to the news and to big topics which is cool, and the MC is rather an anti hero but evolving so if you prefer manga with a main character who is cool from the start, it will not be for you.

And for those who are surprised that French manga exist, well know that it is not the only one ! France still seems to be the biggest consumer of Japanese anime and manga now and the first foreign country where it was imported, (probably because the bande dessinée (which is at the origin of the comics and manga) already worked very well in France before that)
And also later, for the generation of people born between the mid-70’s and late 80’s in France, the only cartoons available on the TV were Japanese anime (and there were a lot!), so even for people who are no longer interested in Japanese anime as an adult, Japan has probably something nostalgic even unwittingly as they are all raised with a bit of Japanese culture.
They spent their childhood watching the same cartoons as Japanese children were raised with, so it probably left something deep into their collective unconscious, something that they share with Japanese people from the same generation. It is therefore also for that you can see many collaboration between french and japanese especially for animes ! So that why is not really surprising

Looking foward to how the next volume is, maybe we'll see a major battle preparing to take place in Bome between the inquisition, the domitors, the mesnie, and seth's group. It was also great to see that through mellie's memories there are other sorcerer groups out there in the world however a let down with seth's character being too soft in a harsh world where sorcerers and inquisitors are in a constant state of warfare.
