I tried to translate once. It was a gag manga with 7 pages. Not much text, around 3-5 bubbles per page, simple-ish words. It took me 4 hours to do because if you aren’t with someone who knows the language, it becomes hell to translate because you have to go through a process to even do MTL!
1: grab the page
2: load them up onto an editor software
3: open a image to text website/software
4: crop the image just right so you get the text you want and not any SFX and then copy it
5: paste into image to text software/website
6: copy the text the website/software gives you
7: Open up a translator (likely google translate)
8: paste text into translator
9: 70% of the time it gives you something that makes relative sense, 30% of the time it gives gibberish
10: if you got the 70% of the translated text copy it
11: go back to image editing software and white out the bubbles
12: paste text into bubbles
13: spend 10 straight minutes resizing text so it fits.
Congrats you have now done MTL for one page of a manga!
Yes I’m sure that if you some kind of AI or some bullshit you could get it auto translated but this was from a couple years ago when that wasn’t available
