I mean... If I was playing an MMO and aiming for a particular job, and found out *insert event* gave a permanent stat boost that helped my desired job out.... I'd milk it to the very end. Can't wait for him to start dropping nukes.

What kind of insane company would put this much effort into quests, then lock them so that only one person will ever be able to see that content? Out of all the insane, unbelievable stuff in this kind of manga, that's always the thing that breaks my SOD.

That's his argument? The number of the books in the library are finite, so when he finished, he'd be forced to do quests and level up because the only library without limitations would be the Master Sorcerer's? 🤣
Gosh these guys xD

About quest books: I think there must be certain conditions to be met. And I'm not talking about level. Maybe it's about level of wisdom? MP? No idea. Also, completing the library of Oren was one of the conditions for getting the Master Sorcerer quest.

Here's how a real life company would handle the problem:

"This feature has not be implemented"

Or the game would bug out or simply block the user from completing the activity.

Quite stupid to spend so much time an effort for so many unique quests that only 1 person can complete. Sure, for a game with a small user base that could work (still stupid tho), but if the company wants to scale, you gotta reuse already created assets. Because once your user base gets so big, you literally run out of quests because people will complete them faster than you can create new ones.

Oh, tks for the release! =D

I'm really enjoying the manga! For an avid reader like me, it's wonderful. I don't mind the world first/only one quest/etc trope as it is quite common in those game mangas.

Looking foward for the next chapter! =D

the ending is
he runs out of books because no game has enough room for that much assets unless they also log NPC dialogue. jkjk but seriously, either the artist or the author is doing a poor job of portraying the MC's like for his books, throwing around world building is fine but they're also limiting their cast. the towers make sense, but what game company functions with 2 people? lolol they're should be co-workers that play the straight man to a tsukkomi. for real, with how much the story is directing, I think the ED will be the protagonist learning life and realizing that he just can't keep reading books. and it's purely out of self interest to the point that his parents are happy to throw money for their son to play. good concept, poor direction. you can tell the NPC is well loved with how much screentime is given despite their conversation not flowing with a vibe. THOUGH, it's still too early to judge-
I love these max minimize stories, I hope their is a turn around for character depth and foreshadowing; mainly plotting no drama please.
romance, get out

Novel reader here:
He eventually, after reading all the mage library books, gets to level up. He does unlock one more gate before leaving the mage city. Poison tower master is a bro. Rich kids are assholes brats and one will launch his grunt against him with lot of comedy due to him still preferring reading.

I think that the reason why they can implement such things as unique quests is that only a very small percentage of the playerbase ever encounters them. The rest are all just going along with the redoable quests like in a normal mmorpg

So who's writing the infinite books? Do they have a room of monkeys on typewriters?

yeah...
This is what I hate about VR games, the idea that the devs are powerless against a player in a game they made.....
and yeah serious question, who writes all that shit? if its AI then there will be a pattern and no way in hell is a bookworm not aware of a template in the background after reading thousands of books.
You'd literally get sick of it like you would with reading isekai.

Many times the devs are 'powerless' because changing things because of one player is a terrible idea. Especially if it WAS made with someone doing that in mind. They simply thought it take months before someone happened upon those requirements, so they can either REMOVE the content punishing a player for doing what they hoped they would do but too early or at best ask that player to 'Please don't enjoy yourself. If you stop playing our game in the way you enjoy we'll maybe give you some consumables for your trouble.' Just that they are watching means that they don't think he's doing anything bad enough to punish just potentially balance breaking. And if it IS too bad they presumably plan to nerf it somehow to deal with it otherwise they wouldn't be watching him at all. It'd be pointless to be like 'keep an eye on him. If he snaps the game over his knee we need to be prepared for crying and mourning our hard work.'
