Nice to see a release right up to the end of the fight. Those two definitely had a lot of fun. I'd say the main issue with Kureishi was that his mind really was elsewhere and he just lost his focus and initiative in the third round.

Another victory for Aoba! Now Orima did declare he wanted to fight him next if he won against Kureishi, so I do wonder how that will go. Aoba didn't care much for it, but it would definitely be interesting for him to see how he fares against a striker like Orima.

Boost isn't over either; Orima has his own match and there will probably be extra interviews after for everyone.

What an amazing fight to binge on, I can't wait to see the chairman to lose his goddamn mind over this

NICE! Next up is Aoba v. The Champ & then Kenshin! Unless The Chairman pulls some shady BS and goes: "Ah but he won via an eyepoke and so it's overruled! The Champ fights Kenshin!" but The Champ is a good dude and would knock that down real quick.

The fight order was telegraphing a loss for Aoba so I was surprised when he still won, makes sense it would be with the help of a fluke event (double eye poke) making a situation his psychology comes to advantage. Honestly I might have preferred such a loss so I can cheer for Kureishi's grandfather's jujutsu.

Refs are right on top of the fighters and are trained to specifically look for shut eyes. Did he just completely miss that?

Aoba could have still gotten a decision win potentially anyway, won the first round a lot clearer than Kureishi won the second. I think his performance in the first round set the tone, Kureishi wouldn't have bothered with the ground fight but Aoba was actually outperforming him on the feet.

Unlike the Yamamoto fight where Aoba couldn't do shit to him on the feet and only barely managed to eke out a victory on the ground here it felt a lot more even so despite the bizarre ending I think this is probably Aoba's best performance so far.

MMA refs are often really bad at their jobs but the cliffhanger makes it look slower than it actually was, they recoiled then Aoba basically charged in and got the submission.

Agreed, I feel like the narrative was trying to tell us that that was a split second decision. No ref was gonna make it in time to break that shit up.

Thank you for the translation!

The blindfight was a nice twist, I don't think I've seen that in a fighting manga before. I'm a bit worried the story might end soon though if Aoba keeps winning like this. Looking forward to the Orima fight now.
