@bushwhacker2k That's certainly a possibility. The reason I suggested guns was because of a novel I'm currently reading called Release the Witch. There, they were talking about weapons any untrained (or little trained) man could use.

Isn't it possible either the author or the translator just used the wrong word? Finances certainly implies they use money, while assets would be applicable to things that they'd be managing similar to finances in a bartering system.
