Thanks for the update! I was really curious with this series that I finally made an account at NU to literally ask for spoilers
Compared to the chapter, this won't be text heavy as the rest of my spoilers from other series unless the rest of you want an extension
Who are the antagonists?
Yuria, the "heroine", Fuki-san, Fuki's grandson, and Reiko's father
Amongst the capture targets, who falls for Reiko
4 out of 6. The only 2 who apparently don't fall for her or their feelings aren't explored and also don't have their own POV chapters are the doctor and Takanashi/diligent 1st year rep
Who is the ML/Reiko endgame?
Black haired student council Prez. Capture target #3 this chapter. Frankly, I shipped Reiko more with the twins (going with Soujuu would make Sarah her sis-in-law afterall but despite falling for Reiko, Soujuu and Sarah are already engaged with someone else *sad shipper noises*
Reiko is such a treasure. But if they're that aware of the tropes of that world, and otome games, they should realize Reiko is pretty much a stock heroine at this point.
That's an odd ending to the chapter. It feels like it just... ends without ending. There's no conclusion to the chapter, no point where it feels like the chapter finished, it just suddenly stops mid-conversation. As if there's a page missing.
yeah. I was REALLY surprised to find out Fuki-san was an antagonist towards Reiko. But not Mary, her grandmother was just very misunderstood despite truly being haughty and prideful. Since you didn't ask for an extension, basically when you think about it (and find out Fuki-san's err... issues, it just made sense on why Fuki-san was able to put up with Mary despite being treated terribly as a helper.
@kurobaraito Which "they" are you referring to?
The antagonists?
Yuria has already been seen. Heroine was simply... heavily influenced by Yuria when she "pulled her out to safety" last chapter. Fuki-san is THAT big of a spoiler but
she's OBSESSED with Mary to the point of being possessive that even Reiko was seen as a threat, she only treated Reiko well if I remember right was simply because Mary asked her to
, Fuki's grandson was a victim of also being influence (I forgot if it was Fuki or Yuria and/or heroine but the guy believed Reiko was "evil" to the point he prevented Reiko from visiting Fuki when she was hospitalized. As for Reiko's father, well... the guy for me after reading the spoilers was just a moron.
Hated both Mary and Reiko because of apparently being manipulated by his own people or something? I forgot but basically guy was also misinformed to the point that once he got his riches back, not once did he contact Mary nor look for Reiko.
the heroine was so heavily influenced by Yuria to the point that she actually became a villainess to Reiko? She reversed her role? XD Also, is Reiko's father really just an idiot and not an asshole? Because I would think he'd get in a lot of trouble if he got his wealth back but never looked for Reiko, especially now that she's clearly in public view at such a wealthy school and pennyless. That just screams scandal in the business world if you ask me. And is Fuki-san sort of like a yandere because she loved Mary? And are you absolutely sure Reiko can't be with Sou?! I want that three way ship more than anything! ;_;
Basically, her biggest b*tch move that even the spoiler giver was mad about was during a PE class when Reiko asked to be excused since she had piano practice. As you have seen this chapter, one of the things she did respect Mary with was her piano skills so ofc Reiko is taking it seriously. Heroine went something along the lines with "How unfair could you be when all of us have our own things to do and yet you're asking for an exemption?" Plus, if I remember it right, and if they really were the ones who influenced Fuki's grandson, it led to Reiko being pushed on a flight of stairs, got wet in the process (it was raining), and gotten sick for 5 days (not sure if I remember it right, but Reiko even got pneumonia
Reiko's father is
both. I apologize on my unreliable memory but at some point in time, Reiko's home will be involved in a landslide, and instead of saving her, he apparently lets go of her hand (forgot the specific situation). Don't worry though, Reiko's revenge is basically, have him initially marry the "true love" of his/Reiko's landlord (aka the only person Reiko will treat as a family member and mama landlord herself loves Reiko so much. So, back to her revenge, after her father remarries (his first wife/Reiko's mom(?) left him and remarries and has another family according to spoilers), Reiko uses the opportunity to spend as much time with Mama landlord via shopping mother daughter bonding using her father's money.
Rereading the spoilers (credits to Lilylam)
Orchestrated the down fall of the Kujouin family as revenge for tearing him apart from the love of his life
Leaves Reiko at Mary's doorstep as a form of revenge
Cornered and made Reiko's life difficult from the shadow
Tricked Reiko to sign over her money and fortune.
Is actually living a life of wealth and fortune himself through his investments
Felt guilty about abandoning his mother after learning was was innocent
Also confessed to feeling bad? about abandoning MC at some point
During a landslide when Reiko tried to reach for Landlord and run, he slapped her hand away. He then grabbed landlord's land and ranway. They sustained terrible injuries because their escape route was terrible.
Reiko fake forgives him on account of landlord's feelings and that he was going to die soon.
Reiko convinced the two to get married by telling them they have waited long enough and that they should seize the chance. However, in reality Reiko just wanted to remain connected to landlord after his death.
Thought to have cancer but did not go to the hospital because of trauma (His father was a great man who invested a lot into hospitals and healthcare. He didn't want to go hospital and be reminded he wasn't as great?). Eventually he went after landlord convinced him to go. Turned out he didn't have cancer and it was some kind of pancreatic disorder.
Reiko gets revenge on him by casting a bad light on him in landlords eyes. In order to salvage his image, he is forced to bend to Reiko's will. Reiko is constantly trying to steal landlords love and attention.
Eventually shapes up as a father a little bit. Saves MC from death after a scumbag (Miu's brother-in-law) almost kills her. He manages to both apologize and insult MC at the same time after saving her. He says sorry and that it's his fault for causing her to live in a environment that completely distorted her common sense.
He like eating the food MC makes but won't admit it. he told landlord it reminds him of the meals he ate as a kid.
He confesses to MC that he's jealous of her. He reveals that he's envious that the MC not only inherited his father's intelligence but also his mother's talent for piano.
Relationship w/ MC: Antagonistic → Parent-Child (though they're constantly fighting and bickering for landlord's attention)
Fuki-san's past and motivation
since its been mentioned this chapter that Fuki is around 80, she herself is apparently a victim of war via something close to prostitution (the toilet women issue back at WWII?), in a sense Mary "saved" her when she hired her. Fuki becomes so loyal to her simply because Mary was the first person who didn't treat or look at her as a sexual object (though, with this I don't get why she couldn't treat Reiko the same way? Is it a psychological thing with a first come basis? Additional add-on, Mary's downfall from grace is partially because of Fuki, basically Fuki sabotaged what she could to prevent Mary from ever coming back to the world of nobility and kept her for herself... that is until baby Reiko showed up and ruined their days alone together.
Sou and other capture target POV (rough summary)
Sou
was love at first sight with Reiko or at least was the longest to fall for her. Basically, what made him "bad" in the spoilers was his... tendency to stare at Reiko's chest. The spoilers of his POV basically talks half of how Reiko is too defenseless since you know, she's so poor that her clothes can't hide her bust. He will do anything to make sure Reiko is his because she's the only busty woman (he initially wasn't a boob man until he met Reiko. It was so surreal reading the summary of his POV) who understood him
Yuu
ML. kinda confused with his POV. At first I misunderstood his POV as a semi stalker thing (there was some talk with a camera, it wasn't his btw. He just gave Reiko a dress that emphasized her best features, first her butt, next a little on the chest, and probably even legs). But after rereading it, although I may still be wrong, it got a tad bit... better since the guy awakened to a lot of Reiko specific fetishes. Basically, he likes everything physical to Reiko. Again, I'm sorry for having misunderstood his POV.
What is another salvage point to his POV is he curses himself for no longer being a virgin. At one point, Reiko is having a friendly chat with Sarah or with a mob friend with her preference, a pure guy. Our capture targets overhear this and overthink. Yuu is incredibly devastated and regrets he's no longer pure or at least kept himself pure enough before he met Reiko. That is until later in the story where Reiko develops a crush (and subsequently moves on) on an older gentleman (a soldier of some kind and an acquaintance/ex of her mom), this gives the capture targets newfound hope (since older guy=already has exp. with the opposite sex). He vows to confess once he graduates (propose with the blessings of his grandparents) and/or tries to get Reiko by his own power/influence
Additional endgame info
Well... no marriage talks or anything, just a mention that Yuu is most likely the person Reiko wants to grow old with
Katsuragi and the german kid capture target share their POV
both are playing fortnite and Katsuragi is aware he has a lot of love rivals. He is a bit irritared because he met Reiko first (while he didn't say it, remember in Yuria's otome mind, he is the oresama chara), so ofc he deserves her more. And compared to the others, he makes sure Reiko is both his first and last. Additional add-on spoilers, Yuria is into him but he rejects her. He doesn't end up with Yuria right to the very end
