Unfortunately the translation is quite unnatural and hard to read in places.
E.g. just on page 8, the first panel: "Up until this place became like this, including myself. There were three people left." and the fifth panel: "Well, it is a pity since you are young. But let us get along from now on."
Or on page 14, the text in the boxes have all been translated as separate sentences "The death-stained snake, which had grown up eating only "fear" until now. Even if it was only five people for now. It manifested by receiving their faith." would be much smoother written as a single sentence.
Right now it all just reads like MTL and it puts the burden on the reader to figure out what the hell the text is on about.

I know people get pissy and whiny when someone criticizes a bad translation, but look at it this way - this is showing respect for the real translators, who actually care and put in the effort. Cheering on this no-effort translation would be a bit of an insult to the people who actually try.

I think that's the fundamental problem of any MTL translation. Guy has clearly has made put the extra effort every other MTL don't bother with to make this readable, but by their very design these translations tool can't capture the nuances of language and instead produce something bland, neutral and stilted.

I really don't know how long it has taken to edit "everything up to vol 7" but if the answer is "by sunday" I'm not hopeful about the result.

I agree with you that it's a subpar translation, and it could use a lot of work. Had you been the one to pay for it, you'd have the right to be annoyed.
But you weren't, and you don't.
You get a translation for free, with no better alternatives available. Provide them, or maintain your silence.
