Release Date entry in DB

For people who like to search for a specific time period of releases because they prefer those to others or even for people who forgot the title but know the time it is from, would it be possible to add a release date (i.e. the initial release date the manga appeared in serialization) to entries in the db?

If this data isn't already added to each title (which I don't know for sure but I'm pretty sure it isn't), then this sounds like quite a bit of work. I would find it cool to sort my manga by original release date though, but I'm not sure how useful it would be in the long run, or how often I would actually use it.

Released date may not be stored, but we already have title ID numbering. Sorting by this would be possible I think.

@BabelTheSecond
One like from me. Putting manga into a timeline could bring a sense of history!
If I remember correctly, long ago a certain site
(mangaf*x)
had this feature and I really enjoyed it.

@MavB_Ver
I'm not sure if I understand what you said correctly but... I think BabelTheSecond is referring to the date on which the manga were first published or serialized, not the date on which they were uploaded to MD - which title IDs are based on.

@Shin_968 Just my opinion on what we can make use of. True, they are different things but as oneesan said, it took a lot of work to add this piece of info to every title and practically, it would be a more useful information for users who want to find new works (on MD of course). But yes, if somehow they are able to do it, even if just by year alone, it will be... an additional useful option I guess, but with lots of effort.

Thanks for the replies. I should have specified, my interest lies in the history of the medium. So the date when the work first appeared on the market would be the date in question.
@MavB_Ver It would indeed be a lot of work and I don't expect that from anyone, of course. It was just that I wasn't sure whether or not data such as this was automatically scraped from other sources or not.
