I opened MangaDex today to find a new and very wide button with the text 'Become a Supporter' at the top of the page when logged in, one with fixed positioning meaning it's always visible even when scrolling down the page. The main page, checking manga updates from my subscriptions, using advanced search to look for new manga; it's there. What I find annoying is that this button has a shine animation: Once every 6 seconds, a highlight pseudo-element moves across the button from left to right. I find this moving element very distracting because there's now something moving in the corner of my eye every 6 seconds, which is not a pleasant browsing experience.
MangaDex has banner ads and these (most of them at least) are animated too, but these are not fixed to the top of the screen. Once you scroll past them, nothing on the page moves by itself.
I suggest removing the shine animation. If there is strong opposition to this, then I suggest at least making the button's position not fixed, so that (just like banner ads) you can scroll past it and keep it and its animation out of view. It's easy to adjust the CSS yourself or hide the element, which I will do for now, but I believe it would be better to change the styling of the button for everyone.
